Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck), the leading suspect in his wife Amy’s abrupt disappearance, is the focus of a postmodern mystery set in Missouri (Rosamund Pike).
Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry also feature in the film. Before its October 3 release, the film had its global debut on September 26, 2014, during the opening night of the 52nd New York Film Festival.
The picture was a critical and financial triumph for Fincher, earning $369 million worldwide on a production budget of $61 million. As a cult favorite, the film has been referred to as a “romantic picture” by some.

The day after his fifth wedding anniversary, Amy is gone. Amy was the inspiration for her parents’ popular Amy novels. Detective Rhonda Boney finds a fight in the house. Supposing Nick’s apathy towards Amy’s abduction.
To Nick, Amazing Amy embodied all of Amy’s flaws. After losing their jobs in the crisis, they moved to Nick’s hometown of North Carthage, Missouri, to care for his sick mother. Amy disliked Nick for taking her to Missouri.
The home is bloodstain-free. A financial crisis and recent weapon acquisitions are discovered by Boney. Amy was pregnant, which Nick disputes. Every anniversary, Amy and Nick went on a quest.
Amy has stashed Nick’s credit card purchases and a journal in the shed since his death. Amy goes Ozarks camping. He was going to blame her. She fabricated a journal entry to cover their connection.

Amy wants Nick, the guy begging for her return on TV. However, Nick notifies Boney, Bolt, and Margot. Amee says she’s pregnant after utilizing a fertility clinic’s Nick’s sperm
Nick is furious by Amy’s desire to stay married, yet he is the father. To Amy’s dismay, he follows Margot. Their pregnancy is televised.
Expected Plot: Gone Girl 2
It should feature the Dunnes still living together, Nick confined and maybe scheming against Amy.
The sequel might potentially include their kid as a teenager. Given Flynn’s previous work with strong female characters, the Dunnese probably have a daughter.
Flynn previously tackled a complicated mother-daughter connection in ‘Sharp Objects. It will be intriguing to watch how Flynn and Fincher depict Amy and her daughter, and whether Nick stays with them to safeguard the youngster.

Pike was nominated for an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress for her role in the film.
Golden Globe Award, BAFTA, and Critics’ Choice Award nominations were also given for Flynn’s adapted screenplay, which won the Critics’ Choice award.
Release date: Gone Girl 2
There is no confirmation yet if there will be a sequel to Gone Girl. The fact that a large portion of the ‘Gone Girl’ cast and crew has shown interest in working together again on a sequel means we can reasonably assume that a sequel is in the works, at least if the team reunites.
To make sense of this, Flynn feels that the sequel will take place sometime in the future, and as we want to see the Dunnes’ kid as a teenager, it only seems logical that the sequel would likewise take place sometime in the future.
David Fincher’s devotion to his other projects would also make sense here.
Fincher’s most recent picture, “Mindhunter,” was published on Netflix, and he is presently working on “Mank,” which he plans to release in 2020.
