Apple TV+ has made a name for itself through a provider of excellent original television programming. There seem to be a plethora of original programmes available on Apple TV+, like Rose Byrne’s “Physical,” Rob McElhenney’s “Mythic Quest,” and, of course, the Emmy-nominated “Ted Lasso.”
The suspenseful detective series “Home Before Dark,” starring Brooklynn Prince of “The Florida Project,” is another hugely popular Apple TV+ original. It is based on the true story of Hilde Lysiak and tells the fascinating narrative of a young journalist named Hilde Lisko (Prince). When Hilde and her family relocate to a new town, she decides to investigate a cold case, which sets in motion a chain of events that will forever alter their life, particularly when she discovers that her father Matthew (Jim Sturgess) is closely linked to the mystery.
The second season’s last episode aired earlier this month, and it was just as exciting as the first. With so many secrets surrounding Erie Harbor, it’s easy to become lost — so let’s look at the Season 2 finale of “Home Before Dark.”
What is the plot of Season 2 of ‘Home before Dark’?
In Home Before Dark Season 2 Hilde continues her hunt for the missing youngster after the events of the Richie Fife case, confident that he is still alive and hiding somewhere in or outside of Erie Harbor. A mystery explosion and some violent thunderstorms, on the other hand, divert her attention to a fresh investigation.
Hilde launches an inquiry in to some kind of environmental misuse that results in dead birds and fish in the neighbourhood with the support of friends Spoon (Deric McCabe) and Donny (Jibrail Nantambu). What else may the town be hiding, and will it endanger everyone? As the teaser implies, this case could be linked to Richie Fife’s disappearance, making it Hilde’s most crucial storey to date.
Dana Fox, who also co-wrote Cruella, discussed why she added a fresh tale in Season 2 of Home Before Dark in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“When I make something, I always pretend to be the audience. When I fall in love with a TV programme and return for a second season, I want the things I liked about something to stay kind of the same, so I’m still watching the same show, but I also want it to shock me and also get bigger and expand,” she said. “That it was my goal: give you everything you loved from season 1, but make season 2 feel like its own thing, developing the world and enriching the characters while making you love it even more.”

Final Recap: Home Before Dark Season 2
In season 2, Hilde notices that several of the town’s residents (including her grandfather and his late acquaintances) have peculiar health problems. She quickly ties it to the town’s vast bird and fish deaths, and discovers that Strata Tech, a large firm and the town’s lengthy patron, has been poisoning its residents for decades as well. The young reporter dives into their complex past of paying off staff in exchange for their silence, intent on discovering their crimes. Her grandfather’s death spurs her efforts even more, and she soon discovers that the corporation has already been depositing a toxic chemical called Cadmium on a neighbouring island, which has been leaking into the town’s water system.
Hilde and her father Matt find Richie Fife, who was allegedly kidnapped decades ago, in the season 2 finale while on the hunt for an eyewitness to show Strata Tech’s misconduct in court. Richie looks to know everything there is to know about the company’s misdeeds, but he is afraid of being apprehended by the police, so he quickly vanishes. Matt and Hilde hunt for the elusive tape that could contain the incriminating evidence they require, but they are unsuccessful.
Elsewhere, Bridget and Izzy work on putting together a class action suit against Strata Tech and attempting to get others who have been harmed by the corporation to come forward and attend a town hall meeting. However, persuading people is difficult because many of these work for a large corporation and are afraid of losing their employment and the money that the company brings into the neighbourhood. The town hall meeting is sparsely attended, but Grant, the CEO of Strata Tech, is there with his lawyer and henchman.
When Will Season 3 of Home Before Dark Be Released?
There is currently no official word from Apple on whether or not “Home Before Dark” will be renewed for Season 3. Despite this, the supporter series appears to be returning, given the end of The season 2 leaves many mysteries unsolved and the show is one of the most popular on the streaming service. Since the season just completed, a decision should be made shortly, as production expenses, viewing ratings, and other variables are examined and evaluated. Another option is that “Home Before Dark” has already been renewed but has yet to be revealed, allowing the series’ creators to begin experiment with new episodes sooner.
If everything goes according to plan and “Home Before Dark” is renewed for a third season, fresh episodes would most likely air in the summer or fall of 2022. While the show had the advantage of knowing it had been renewed for Season 2 before Season 1 ever aired, production on the second season was still hampered by COVID-19 constraints. Even back then, the show returned with new episodes in just over a year, so we can probably imagine a similar timetable for Season 3.
