Young & Hungry Season 6: Will Netflix Renewed This Show Ever?

Can fans anticipate a sixth season of Young And Hungry, a Freeform sitcom that aired for five seasons? Young And Hungry began in 2014 on Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family). In the San Francisco-set sitcom, Emily Osment plays Gabi Diamond, a passionate foodie who gets a job as a private chef for affluent tech tycoon Josh Kaminski. Food blogger Gabi Moskowitz of BrokeAss Gourmet fame was the inspiration for it (Jonathan Sadowski, Live Free Or Die Hard).

Gabi and Josh’s work relationship is harmed by the fact that they plainly adore one other and had a wild one-night affair. For the following three seasons of Young And Hungry, the love-struck couple had an on-again, off-again romance before ultimately getting together at the conclusion of the first half of season 5. Freeform aired the second half of Season 5 in 2018 after a year break, concluding on a cliffhanger with Gabi proposing to Josh and asking him to move to Seattle with her.

Young & Hungry: How Season 5 End It’s Story

In the Season 5 finale, Gabi (Osment) proposed to Josh, asking him to accompany her to Seattle, where she’ll be working under Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. Throughout the season, the rest of Josh’s staff, Yolanda and Elliot, battled with the new work dynamic with Gabi as the “lady of the house.” Gabi’s best friend Sofia, who feels like a third wheel in her best friend’s recent marriage, embarks on her own search for love.

David Holden, Caryn Lucas, Ashley Tisdale, and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, who also worked on the series, were set to produce the Young & Hungry movie. At the time, Freeform claimed that it will “follow the escapades of Gabi, Josh, and their circle of friends.”

Young & Hungry was conceived by Holden, Tisdale, Lucas, Jessica Rhoades, and Kim and Eric Tannenbaum in cooperation with CBS Television Studios. Gabi Moskowitz of, a food blogger based in San Francisco, was instrumental in the initiative’s development. In addition to Osment and Sadowski, the series featured Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley, and Rex Lee.

Young & Hungry: Will It Renewed for Season 6?

Unfortunately, Young and Hungry will not be renewed for a sixth season. Freeform cancelled both the series and its spin-off film in March 2018. Despite the cast’s and fans’ astonishment, the show’s termination was obvious due to the gap between seasons 5A and 5B.

A Young and Hungry TV movie is in the works, according to Freeform. The Young And Hungry movie was scheduled to conclude the show’s fifth season. Gabi, Josh, and their pals were going to be followed as they progressed in their lives.

Unfortunately, the film was also cancelled by Freeform, as Haley Joel Osment, the show’s star, announced in a tweet. As a result, the last cliffhanger of the fifth season will remain unresolved. According to fans, Gabi and Josh were engaged to be married in the film.

Regardless of the fact that fans had petitioned Netflix to take the show off the air, it was not done. The streaming behemoth saved several of our favorite TV program from cancellation, including Lucifer and Arrested Development. Young and Hungry was unable to be saved from extinction by Netflix.

The fifth season of Young and Hungry was officially revealed as the final season on March 15, 2018. The 5th Season began on June 20, 2018, and finished on July 25, 2018, with 20 episodes.

On August 24, 2018, the cancellation of Young and Hungry’s sixth season was officially revealed.

“We absolutely needed to do another season, and we didn’t get to,” the show’s creator, David Holden, said in a meeting. But, hey, that’s how television works. Hopefully, we’ll be able to tie things up nicely. That’s not how business is done.”

“The goal with the film is that we tie things up a little more,” he continued. The season will undoubtedly end on a cliffhanger. It would be fantastic if a film could please all of our admirers. We’ve already written a rough copy of the script for them. I’m guessing it’ll air on Freeform. I suppose it’s a matter of determining whether or not it will happen. It’s not under my control. If they don’t get the movie, I think we should post it on the internet and see what happens.”

Young & Hungry: What Fans Expecting from Season 6

The official narrative for Young and Hungry’s sixth season has yet to be revealed. However, here is a plotline from the fifth season that may provide some insight into what may happen next.

In the final episode of Young and Hungry, Gabi and John decide to begin a sexual relationship by punching cards with 10 holes on each card. Sofia then tells Gabi about the possibility of a link. After some time, Sofia’s counsel proved to be correct. Yolanda used a low-cost detergent to wash John’s clothes.

Josh then makes a dinner reservation for Gabi at a swanky restaurant. A appointment had been arranged, however, for a doctor proposing to his girlfriend. Gabi discovers Josh’s engagement ring and expects he’ll propose to her. Gabi sought advice from Ms. Wilson, her next-door neighbor, about this.

Gabi interrupts Josh’s appointment with renowned chef Natasha Cook-Campbell. With Gabi’s help, Josh arranges a deal with Natasha. When Natasha travels to see her wounded helper, she and her dog, Kiki, are separated. Josh then purchased a boat with the intention of proposing to Gabi.

After reading this, you can probably anticipate what the next chapter in the 6th Season will be.

Neither the producers nor the well-known streaming platforms have revealed anything regarding the development of Season 6. After both Young And Hungry season 6 and the TV movie were cancelled by Freeform, fans petitioned Netflix to salvage the show. Unfortunately, Netflix declined, therefore it’s reasonable to assume that a sixth season of Young And Hungry will not be produced.

Until there are more updates, you may watch previous seasons of Young and Hungry on Netflix.
