Big Brother Season 23: How Far We Know About It

Big Brother 23 is the twenty-third season of the reality television show Big Brother in the United States. The season premiered on CBS in the U.S. and Globally premiered in Canada on July 7, 2021 live. The show follows a group of contestants (dubbed HouseGuests) who live in a house together while being constantly videotaped and having no contact with the outside world as they compete to be the last competitor standing and win a grand prize of $750,000 (up $250,000 from recent years). Big Brother was renewed for a second season by CBS on October 28, 2020, the same day as the previous season ended. Julie Chen Moonves was confirmed to return as host on the same day.

After 85 days of competition, the season finished on September 29, 2021. ¬†Xavier Prather was crowned the winner, defeating Derek Frazier, becoming the first black HouseGuest to win in the main edition of the game, in the second successive unanimous jury vote and the fourth in Big Brother US history (following Dan Gheesling of Big Brother 10, Tamar Braxton of Celebrity Big Brother 2 and Cody Calafiore of Big Brother 22). Tiffany Mitchell was voted America’s Favorite HouseGuest for the season.

What Surprises Might We Expect On Big Brother 23?

Season 23 will start off with some huge changes, as Executive Producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan revealed to Parade. Each move-in group will engage in a brief competition during the live premiere, with the winner being named “team captain.” The four captains will watch 90-second preseason videos from the other houseguests before selecting their own four-person teams. They will then compete for the position of Head of Household for the first time.

This will be the first time Big Brother has used teams since season 18. For the first four weeks of the season, these teams will stay together. The HoH and their team will be safe from eviction every week, but the other three teams will be at risk.

Now, the brand-new Wildcard Competition would provide them with a new chance at safety. The Wildcard Competition, which telecasted on Sunday nights, sees each non-immune team nominate someone to compete. The three people will then participate in a challenge. The winner will have the chance to earn a week’s worth of safety. If they choose to accept the immunity, they will be punished, either separately, as a team, or as a whole.

Cast Of The Big Brother 23

Robyn Kass announced on January 22, 2021 that Kassting, Inc. would not be providing casting services for the coming season. The former Big Brother, Jesse Tannenbaum casting producer and casting director for Big Brother. He was the Top and Survivor and revealed as the casting director for Big Brother 23.   Several casting producers who worked on the show as part of Kassting, Inc. returned to cast BB23.

Development Of Big Brother 23

Julie revealed during a Clubhouse event with Love Island hostess Arielle Vandenberg and narrator Matthew Hoffman that the season would include a live debut and move-in, similar to Big Brother 22, and that it would air on July 7, 2021, directly following the season three premiere of Love Island.

She also revealed that the season’s theme would be “BB Beach House,” and that the future houseguests “deserve a vacation,” as well as the fact that the season would have 16 houseguests once again.

In Big Brother 23, What Happened To Christie?

Christie Valdiserri, a professional dancer, was expected to join the cast for season 23. She was, however, removed off the roster of houseguests on July 5. She then released a video message in which she revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore has been unable to enter the house. Claire Rehfuss was brought in to fill her place.

Are There Any Returning Houseguests On Big Brother 23?

No! A brand-new set of houseguests contended for the $500,000 prize in Season 23. For the first time since 2006, Season 22 was called “All-Stars,” and it featured a full roster of returning competitors. For two seasons in a row, it would make sense for the show to avoid returning to the well of prior players.

Who Is The Big Brother 23 Host?

Julie Chen Moonves, who has hosted the show since its opening season in 2000, will host Big Brother 23. She has a long history with CBS, having previously worked as an anchor and interview show host on The Early Show, CBS This Morning, and CBS Morning News.
