1. The Bowl Out Of 2007

Indian cricketers took on Pakistani counterparts in the inaugural T20 World Cup 2007 hosted in South Africa. India opened the batting and amassed 141 runs in 20 overs to win the match. 141 runs from Pakistan’s 20 overs were enough for a bowl-out victory. The bowl-out was won by India.

2. None has managed to score 160

Intriguingly, all five of India’s previous T20 World Cup meetings with Pakistan have ended in a tie. Both Pakistan and India have failed to score 160 runs. The highest total in a T20 World Cup innings is 157/5, which India scored in the final of the first edition in 2007. The highest Pakistan has ever tallied is 152, which was also accomplished in the same standoff by the country.

When it comes to going head-to-head with Pakistani batsmen, the Indian bowling lineup has had a strong foothold.

3. The Columbo Clash Of 2012

Five years later, in 2012, the two squads again met in Columbo. It was a low-scoring match and Pakistan plummeted on 128 in 19.4 overs. In response, Kohli netted a match-winning half-century and India emerged victorious once again.

4. The 2016 Showdown

During the next World Cup, India once again had the upper hand, as they held Pakistan to a score of 130/7. The three Indian bowlers who stood out in the World Cup are part of the current squad for the T20 World Cup. There were three different players with three wickets each in that game: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami.

India cruised to victory behind an unbeaten 66-run stand from Suresh Raina and Kohli.

5. The Battle Of Eden

In 2016, the action was relocated to Kolkata’s famed Eden Gardens, and Pakistan once again found itself at the center of pressure. The game was shortened to 18 overs due to rain. Pakistan could only muster 118 runs in their innings. India won that game by 13 balls and six wickets with Kohli scoring an unbeaten fifty in reply.
