Outer Banks Season 3 Release Date: What We Know So Far?

Fans know how Netflix’s Outer Banks just loves to finish every season with a bang. Despite the huge shockers such as the revealing of John B’s father, the dismal ending for the Pogues, and more, the audience is still stunned by what happened in the second season. 

The most recent season has left the viewers with a lot of unsettled questions, so a second season with extra seasons is exactly what the fans are clamoring for in order to satisfy their curiosity. Although Season 2 has recently been released, it is safe to assume that Season 3 of the Outer Banks will not happen in the near future. 

What Unfolded In Outer Banks Season 2?

When Outer Banks season 2 concluded, multiple exciting new story arcs were already in play for the next season to explore. Towards the season finale,  it was made clear that the Pogues were taken,  though the binger-watchers knew that they were able to successfully flee the cargo ship bound for Guadeloupe and pilot their ship to their island. Cleo, the new member of the Pogues was also able to flee with them.

The startling reveal that John B’s father, Big John Routledge, is still alive was finally revealed. Limbrey finds Big John hiding in a house in Barbados after being rescued. John asks Limbrey to help him and he’ll her finding the one thing she’s been looking for.

Outer Banks Release date 

It’s been months since the second installment of the mystery-thriller graced our screens but Netflix is yet to announce will there be a season 3 or not?

Given the success of the first two seasons, it would be a shock for fans Outer Banks wasn’t renewed for 3rd season, after all, Outer banks rank among the top 10 most streamed shows following its release.

The showrunner Jonas Pate had envisioned Outer Banks extending over multiple seasons, but whether or not the planned plot will be told is up to Netflix to decide.

If the show is officially renewed for a third season, it is highly certain that most of the main cast will resume their roles. 

Chase Stokes may reprise his role as John B., Madelyn Cline will take on the role of his on-again, off-again girlfriend Sarah Cameron, Rudy Pankow will take on again as J.J., Madison Bailey will reprise her role as Kie, along with  Jonathan Daviss who played the Pope, Drew Starkey will play Rafe, and Carlacia Grant will once again portray Cleo.

In addition to the show’s existing main characters, the third season will introduce a few new actors as well. Limbrey’s half-brother, Renfield, will not be returning to the show as the fate of his character has already been sealed in the second season.
