Babri Masjid politics of polarization: Owaisi donated Rs 1.62 Cr to Muslim Personal Law Board?

New Delhi: While BJP is politicizing the building of Ram Mandir ahead of 2019 elections, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) jumped into the fray in politics of polarization by raking up Babri Masjid issue. Akbaruddin Owaisi has claimed the donation of 1.62 Cr rupees to Muslim Personal Law Board in an election meeting address.

After the rhetoric against Kapil Sibal and Congress, AIMIM has now inadvertently made an attack on Muslim Personal Law Board. The video of younger brother of party Chief Asaduddin Owaisi is fast making rounds on social media.

As reported by Urdu daily Inquilab, while the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has expressed anger over his statement, the Congress has questioned that, how can a political party give a donation in religious affairs and why the announcement has been made during elections?

According to Akbaruddin Owaisi, he has given money to Muslim Personal Law Board to follow up Babri Masjid case.

The caption on the video reads if Congress gives Rs 1 Cr for Babri Masjid case then Akbaruddin Owaisi will beg votes for Congress party across the country.

General Secretary of Muslim Personal Law Board Maulana Wali Rahmani while expressing his anger over Owaisi’s statement said, “I will speak to Asaduddin Owaisi about his brother’s misinformation”.

National spokesperson of Congress M Afzal has also reacted strongly and said any political party cannot give fund for religious affairs; it is unconstitutional. He said such types of statements are being issued to create hatred among majority community against Muslims.
