Green signal for Aurangabad Ijtema 2018 from various government departments

Aurangabad: Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP) of Aurangabad Zone I on Saturday said Police Department has received application along with various government departments NOC’s from the organizing committee of Aurangabad Ijtema 2018 for permission to hold three days convention.

Earlier, Waluj police have denied permission for Ijtema citing their inability to manage traffic and other arrangements in a letter to the Sarpanch of Limbe Jalgaon Syed Anees Aamir Patel on Wednesday.

Talking to media on Saturday, DCP Vinayak Dhakne said earlier organizing committee of the convention had not obtained NOCs from various government departments, including PWD, Fire Brigade and Electricity Boards, among others.

”But now they have completed all the formalities and applied for police permission to hold the event, police will grant the permission after the verification”, he said.

As part of arrangements, 3000 police personnel will be deployed for the Ijtema to maintain law and order situation. Besides 2000 extra security force had been sought for the purpose from the state government.

The state level Tablighi Jamaat Ijtema (convention) is scheduled to be held from February 24 to 26 near Limbe Jalgaon village in Gangapur taluka of Aurangabad District in which 23 districts are likely to participate.

The preparation of Ijtema is at full swing for last three months. The organizers have claimed that around 25 lakh Muslims will come for three day program.
