Maharashtra: Bagban Education Trust, Maharashtra has recently launched an “educational adoption scheme” for community’s needy bright students with an aim to empower Bagban youth in the field of higher education. The Trust will provide financial assistance to students from weaker sections that are unable to bear the educational expenses.
Bagban community is known as the business community among Indian Muslims. It is also considered as a financially sound and resourceful section of the society.
The educational scheme will initially adopt two students each from medical and engineering, and one student from LLB, CA, MBA, MPSC, UPSC MPSC and journalism every year. A state level search committee has been formed to find out the deserving students.
Bagban Educational Trust, Maharashtra recently made an appeal through their mouth piece Hindi Fortnightly ‘Bagban Times’ to submit the detailed information of respective city committee, names and contact details of the community activists and information of the needy students who are keen to pursue higher education.
Naseer Ahmed Khalifa, Secretary Bagban Education Trust said that Sachar Committee report was an eye opener. After going through the entire report and holding many discussions, meetings we have decided to do something concrete for the community’s educational upliftment. He even thanked Irfan S M for bringing entire community under one roof through his newspaper for the educational cause.
While speaking to TheShahab.com Irfan S M (Editor Bagban Times) who is actively involved in the entire process informed that for last ten years Bagban Education Trust is working towards upliftment of Bagban community in education sector. “Bagban community has many wealthy and kind hearted people who are contributing generously. Till now seven needy students have been provided financial aid to complete their education without any hurdle”, he added.
Social activists Haji Ilyas Bagban (Gulbarga), Shakeel Engineer (Bhiwandi), Shaikh Nadeem (Aurangabad), Sayed Saleem Bagban (Parbhani), Naseer Ahmed Khalifa (Solapur), Ab. Jabbar Bagban (Aurangabad) and Ab. Kareem Salar are extending their full support and guiding us, Irfan qouted.
Member of the search committee Shaikh Nadeem Bagban said that educational status of Indian Muslim is really bad and if we want to change this scenario more people should come forward with such schemes. Nadeem further said, joining family business is good thing but those children who want to pursue higher education and are good in academics, should get cooperation from parents to choose their own career path.
