LoveFeatured Life

Why most of us always wonder about the meaning of love? Love is one of the most profound emotions we experience as humans. We can welcome love into our lives but then we do not have any control over how, when and where it starts to express itself. That’s why we have a term “Love at first sight”.

According to “Oxford Illustrated American Dictionary” Love is a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection to pleasure. It can refer to an emotion of a strong attraction and personal attachment. Isn’t it interesting!

In simple words it is a Chemistry, Commitment, Infatuation, Compatibility and lot more.

Love starts from the attraction, goes through infatuation and finally attachment. And all this is bounded by chemistry, compatibility and commitment.

Chemistry, compatibility and commitment are the most important elements in a successful love life. John Lenon wrote a song “All you need a Love” in 1967 although his love life was quite turbulent. And Trent Reznor wrote a song “Love is Not Enough” after 35 years who was famous for his on stage misbehavior but later married a woman, had children lived quite happily and peacefully.

Both of them got love but one failed to understand it and same is the case with most of us. We see love a cure to all the problems of life and this overestimation makes our relationships pay a price.

When we flow with Lennon’s “All you need a Love”, we tend to ignore the fundamental aspect of love i.e. Chemistry, compatibility and commitment towards the one we care. As love is the final solution to everything then why we should care about these minor things?

But if we follow Renzor’s “love is not enough” then we prosper the love by understanding that there are more things in our relationship than simply being in love.

The only way you can enjoy the love to the fullest is to choose something more important than love in your life.

Is friendship a better solution than love? “You should treat your partner as your best friend”, this piece of advice is given to almost every one of our generation. Let’s take an example, Will you allow your best friend to trash your home? Will you still be good to him/her, most likely not? But you tolerate negative behavior of your partner. Why? Because you are in love!

You can fall in love for good or bad people throughout the course of your life. You will enjoy potentially many loves in your journey of life but like any other experience, it can be healthy or unhealthy. So keep your self-respect, dignity and ability to trust. We cannot sacrifice our identities and self-worth to it. Because the moment we do that, we lose love and we lose ourselves. Because you need more in your life than just love. Love is great, Love is beautiful but love is not enough.
